Professional Bio
Dr. Neelaysh Vukkadala is a board-certified Otolaryngologist – Head and Neck Surgeon who is fellowship-trained in Laryngeal Surgery and Care of the Professional Voice.

Expertise
He specializes in the diagnosis and management of voice, airway, and swallowing disorders. He has a specific interest in dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) and complex airway management. He brings a variety of in-office diagnostic and procedure options to the practice including office esophagoscopy, steroid injections, balloon dilation, and more. He also performs laryngeal reinnervation surgery.

Education
As a native Californian, he grew up in San Jose before venturing to St. Louis, Missouri, where he graduated summa cum laude from Saint Louis University with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish. He then received an MD with Distinction from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed a residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Stanford University, the #1 ranked residency program at that time. As a chief resident, he was awarded the resident of the year award for his teaching excellence. He completed his laryngology and care for the professional voice fellowship at UCLA.

Dr. Vukkadala is an experienced clinical researcher. Among his research interests are the novel use of high-flow nasal cannula to perform laryngeal surgery under general anesthesia without the use of a breathing tube. He has presented at multiple national research meetings. He also has a passion for patient safety work and brings this focus to both his outpatient and inpatient practice. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and serves on the national committee for patient safety and quality improvement.
