Dr. Abhita Reddy is a board-certified Otolaryngologist – Head and Neck Surgeon and a fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist. Dr. Reddy is trained in the medical and surgical management of all aspects of general otolaryngology, and has a particular interest in all facets of Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat issues.
Dr. Reddy completed medical school at LSU School of Medicine in her hometown, New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, awarded to students at the top of their class, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, awarded to students chosen by their peers for empathy and compassion in medical care.
She completed a 5-year residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, IL followed by additional subspecialty training in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. This fellowship included a specialized focus on management of cleft lip and palate, pediatric airway, swallowing and voice disorders, congenital and acquired head and neck masses, sinus disease, thyroid disorders, vascular anomalies, and hearing loss.
Additionally, Dr. Reddy is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO) and serves on the Pediatric Otolaryngology Committee and the Women In Otolaryngology Committee (WIO) of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). Her research interests include health access and outcomes in pediatric otolaryngologic disorders. She is currently a peer reviewer for the journal of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She is the recipient of the American Medical Women’s Association Susan L. Ivey Courage to Lead Award (2021), Jack Kerth Resident Excellence in Teaching Award (2021), AAO-HNS Resident Leadership Award (2019), and various regional research awards.
Dr. Reddy’s approach to care is patient-focused with patient education and empowerment central to each comprehensive appointment. She believes communicating with the patient and care team is paramount to achieving excellent outcomes, and treats patients like family in and out of the operating room.
