Endocrine disorders include those that involve the thyroid and parathyroid.  The thyroid gland is responsible for metabolism and can develop nodules that can cause hoarseness, swallowing problems, or breathing issues.  They can also develop into cancer that may spread to lymph nodes.  The parathyroid gland is responsible for regulating calcium levels, and can develop into adenomas that can lead to mood problems, weakened bones, and kidney stones.  In certain situations, surgery may be recommended to deal with thyroid and parathyroid disorders.
